PugFest...the aftermath

We had a great time, met lots of cute pugs and even sold a few collars and harnesses. It's always super rewarding to meet the people using our stuff, and talk to them about it. Here's a rather bashful model.

testing testing

We're always testing, trying to get better designs, stronger products and happier dogs (and their owners). We've started using 100% cotton webbing on the inside, as a liner. We're using 2 layers, and it's working well. To be sure we made a 3' leash and a collar out of a single layer. It's 3/4" width, the stuff that lines our 1" collars and leashes. We've been testing it out on Lucy (68# Heeler mix) and Norman (78# GSD). Sometimes we hook it onto the back of the jorring harness so they can really give it a pull, sometimes it's worn like a normal collar & leash and dragged on the ground, swam with and generally mucked up. So far so good, it hasn't broken or even frayed.

Furtastic

So this weekend Phil and I decided to brush all 5 dogs. After chasing little fluffs of fur around for the last week...we concluded that maybe the winter coats should come off!!!!
My god.....I swear I could have made an area rug for the Milwaukee Brewer's Stadium!
We brushed and brushed, swept and then more fur appeared!!!! Where does it all come from?
The pups feel great and have a new spring...heehee...in thier step!

Our first love...

Lucy, an Aussie mix from Aussie Resuce and Placement Helpline (ARPH), she's the first puppy we raised, she's all of 2.5yrs old now. She's a beautiful girl; agile and fast and fit. Here she is near the Crawfish River near the Corgimo World Headquarters. Lucy is modeling our limited edition Wisconsin Love collar, it's a scenic collar of Holsteins and farmland.
We've been gearing up for PugFest in Milwaukee on May 17th. We're meeting up with Lori and Chris and their pug for a test fit with our new harnesses.
Also in the Corgimo calendar is a vacation!!! We'll be camping with our pups and our very good friends, Myla and Dave and their 2 dogs. Seven dogs and 4 humans will decend for a weekend of awesome at the Wyalusing State Park over Memorial Day Weekend.

YEP

Yep, today is a nice day finally!! I started it out by visiting Michelle at Tabby and Jacks! It was so nice to see her new digs, and I have to say her store is AWESOME! We talked collars, spring, dog food and played a bit up catch up. There are some awesome new collars there, so if you are at the Great Dane for a beer, stop by and see our stuff...and get your pooch a new toy. That is an order..directly from the Corgimo!
Some fun spring collars...more to come!

The pooches and I also started to till some space for a new flower bed.....as you can see from last years garden, this is how much help the Corgimo is!!!!!

I'd better get back to the studio........so much to do, not enough time in the day.

SPRING????? Hellooooo?

What happened too spring? If you are anything like me , you have been itching for spring. That nasty tease of warm weather two weeks ago did me in. I am ready for prematurely worn tank tops and flip flops!!

First I need to get over this sickness. The Corgimo household has been on lock down for the past 11 days. Four girls in the house had colds. Megan, Lucy, Cici, and Rosie. Phil ruled the roost this last week and we all are in debt to him for all of his domestication and chicken soup love that he gave us!!!! With all that going on, we were still able to consume and went on a fabric buying spree......there are some AMAZING collars being made so be on the lookout!!

A couple of things

First off, we're "bracing" for snow, something like 4" or 5" nothing too awful terrible by Wisconsin standards. The dogs will be happy, they're always pretty happy to be outside, but especially when there's been a change of weather....except for rain, rain is no fun.

Anyway, we're working on some super triple-threat freshness which can be seen on our Etsy page (link at right). Printed in our home studio by Megan...
That's right, airplanes. So rad little Norman fell asleep.

Finally, here's Lucy looking her best.

Productive Weekend

This weekend was great.....while I have beeen battling a nasty cold, the Corgimo crew and I were able to pound out some new collars. Spring is near and I can barely wait for all of the snow to melt!! Today the high is 55. The dogs came home from their walk wet, muddy and super happy!!!!!

Great Lakes Pet Expo recovery!

We have finally recovered from last weekends pet expo at the Milwaukee fairgrounds! It was a huge event, 9500 people were there!!
We met a plethora of wonderful people......thanks
Badgerland German Shepherd Rescue for all of the awesome cookies!!!!
This is our third huge event and people LOVED our collars. It was so fun to help people try to find the perfect design for their pooch. We really do love to make super unique items and share them with our customers.
Norman, our German Shepherd puppy did so well. It seems like all 9500 people wanted to pet him!!! He is pretty tired in the picture.
All in all it was a spectacular event and we can't wait to do it next year.

My first Blog Ever!

OMG, I have never blogged before. How fun. Here we go...

So, my husband and I own 5 dogs. I know many people think we are the "crazy" dog people. I can't imagine my life without them. It started innocently enough with one dog, Charlie a corgi/eskimo mix that we adopted from the Dane County Humane Society. We had lived in the city of Madison, it was hard to own pets on campus. After graduating, we moved to the country and we now have 4 acres of land...perfect for a dog.....or 5!
Then came Lucy....the aussie mix

Then came Cici & Rosie...the Poms

Now we have Norman, the 16 week old German Shepherd.

Our pack is full and wonderful. The joy my fur family gives me and my hubby Phil is awesome.

So, dressing all of these dogs became an issue right away. Boring collars were all around me. We bought cheapo collars and tore them apart....guess what? we figured it out for ourselves and started making our own collars.
Quickly it became more than just a pastime, and stores around Madison were interested in our stuff.

We now sell to many stores and have a good number of pooches dressed in Corgimo..lookin cool.
